Job Description
Your Job As a Data Scientist at Koch, you will design, build, and deploy autonomous AI and machine learning solutions that enable transformative outcomes across industrial and commercial operations. You will work with modern cloud-native AI technologies—such as AWS Bedrock, Databricks Lakehouse, and agentic AI frameworks—to deliver scalable, production-grade systems that create measurable business impact. Your work will directly contribute to Koch’s vision of leveraging principled entrepreneurship and advanced analytics to transform how decisions are made across the enterprise. Our Team You will be part of a high-performing Data Science and Digital Transformation team that partners closely with business, product, and engineering stakeholders. The team focuses on solving complex industrial challenges through autonomous systems, agent-driven AI applications, and enterprise-grade ML deployments. We blend deep statistical expertise, cloud engineering, and emerging AI techniques to build solutions that are both innovative and operationally robust. What You Will Do Develop, deploy, and optimize autonomous AI agents using LLMs, planning algorithms, and advanced decision-making frameworks. Build end-to-end, production-grade ML systems using AWS, Databricks Lakehouse, and enterprise integrations. Implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions using Amazon OpenSearch or Amazon Kendra to enhance enterprise knowledge access. Leverage AWS Bedrock and AgentCore to orchestrate prompts, agent actions, guardrails, and scalable model execution. Design LLM-powered copilots, chatbots, and automation workflows that integrate seamlessly with enterprise applications and APIs. Conduct advanced statistical modeling, hypothesis testing, and predictive analytics to identify actionable insights. Collaborate with engineering to ensure data quality, model governance, reproducibility, and operational reliability. Document model architectures, agent behavior, decision logic, and design rationale for both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) 3+ years of experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, or Advanced Analytics roles. Strong programming skills in Python or R, with experience using Pandas, NumPy, and ML libraries such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch. Proven experience deploying or optimizing LLMs, Foundation Models, or agentic AI applications (preferably on AWS Bedrock). Solid understanding of statistics, probability, predictive modeling, and experimentation frameworks. Hands-on experience working with SQL and data querying, along with familiarity with data pipelines or distributed data platforms. What Will Put You Ahead Experience building and deploying RAG applications using OpenSearch or Kendra. Prior work developing multi-agent systems, tool-using agents, or reinforcement learning–driven optimization. Exposure to Spark, Hadoop, or large-scale data engineering ecosystems. Knowledge of MLOps practices, model lifecycle management, or feature stores. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and scalable, production-grade AI/ML deployments. Strong understanding of agentic concepts such as reasoning, planning, memory, feedback loops, and autonomy. At Koch companies, we are entrepreneurs. This means we openly challenge the status quo, find new ways to create value and get rewarded for our individual contributions. Any compensation range provided for a role is an estimate determined by available market data. The actual amount may be higher or lower than the range provided considering each candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities, and geographic location. If you have questions, please speak to your recruiter about the flexibility and detail of our compensation philosophy.
