Job Description
A Data Lake Architect designs, builds, and manages scalable, secure cloud-based data lake infrastructures (e.g., AWS, Azure) to support ingestion, storage, and processing of large-scale structured/unstructured data. They define data models, implement ETL/ELT pipelines using Spark/Kafka, ensure data governance, and optimize performance for AI/ML and analytics workloads. Key Responsibilities Design & Architecture: Create blueprints for high-performance, scalable data lakes, choosing appropriate storage (e.g., S3, ADLS) and processing engines. Data Ingestion & Pipeline: Design batch and real-time streaming pipelines (using Apache Spark, Kafka) to integrate data from diverse sources. Data Governance & Security: Establish data access policies, security protocols, data quality frameworks, and data lineage. Optimization: Optimize data storage formats (e.g., Parquet, Delta Lake) and query performance for analytics and AI/ML use cases. Collaboration: Work with engineering, security, and business teams to align data platforms with business objectives. Experience: 8–12+ years in data engineering or data architecture. Cloud Platforms: Deep expertise in AWS (S3, Glue, EMR), Azure (ADLS, Databricks), or Google Cloud Platform. Big Data Technologies: Proficiency in Spark (PySpark/Scala), Kafka, Airflow, and SQL. Data Modeling: Strong understanding of data modeling techniques (Data Vault, Star Schema). Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field. Experience with Modern Data Warehouse solutions (Snowflake, Databricks). Knowledge of AI/ML workflows and model deployment.
