Who are we looking for: We are looking for a Director of Software Engineering to lead teams that build and develop web experiences, core platform APIs leveraging AI/ML for Nike’s Product Creation function. This role will need to seamlessly partner and collaborate with business teams, other technology leaders, engineers, architects, and product managers to drive rapid value delivery of reusable, well-architected and highly scalable solutions to modernize Nike’s technology landscape. This role will lead, support and develop engineering team members, manage priorities anddeliver results across boundaries. What will you do: This role will lead, mentor, and manage multiple engineering squads to deliver software in alignment to cross-functional and multi-year roadmaps and modern industry trends. Who will you work with: As a leader in this organization, you will also partner closely with leadership, productmanagers, architects, principal engineers, and peers across Merchandising and Product Creationand Innovation team to manage priorities and drive alignment on technicaldecisions. Your team will be a high-performing group of software engineers that will belooking to you to empower them, remove barriers, and maintain a strong team culture. What you bring •15+ years’experience leading high performing software engineering teams. •5+ years in a leadership role,providing strategic leadership and direction to multiple engineering squads. •5+ years’ experience with cloud native technologies or platforms like AWS, Azure orother major cloud providers •Excellent verbal and written communication skills, both technical and business-facing •Strength in strategic thinking and translating strategy to measurable objectives •Track record of inspiring others & positive change in solution design, technicaldelivery, and process improvement •Passion for learning new technologies, patterns, and practices •Experience with Agile software developmentmethodology and DevOps (CICD) •Experience with deploying, monitoring and tracing solutions using tools like Splunk,SignalFx and New Relic •Fluent in modern software architectural principles and patterns (e.g. REST, domain-driven design, microservices, etc.) •Experience with current front-end web application tech (e.g. javascript, CSS, html5,Vue, React/redux) •Experience with distributed cloud systems tech (e.g. node.js, EC2, Kubernetes,Lambda, Bedrock, DynamoDB, Elasticsearch) •Experience with implementing or integrating AI, Machine Learning and related datasolutions preferred. •Experience developing, monitoring and supporting highly available microservicesand applications •Experience working within large organization or scaled Agile methodologies •Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience NIKE, Inc. is a growth company that looks for team members to grow with it.
