Your Team's Impact We are seeking an experienced Lead Technical Writer with a strong background in data platforms, product documentation, and PRDs, along with a working knowledge of AI/ML concepts. This role will lead documentation efforts across data-driven products and platforms, ensuring clarity, usability, and alignment with business and engineering goals. You will collaborate with Product Managers, Engineering, and Data teams to create high-quality documentation that simplifies complex systems and enhances user and developer experience. What You'll Do Documentation Leadership Define and execute a documentation strategy across data platforms and products Establish standards, templates, and best practices for documentation Mentor and guide junior technical writers Data & Platform Documentation Create and maintain documentation for: Data platforms and Data Navigator / Data Discovery systems Data pipelines, ETL processes, and analytics workflows System architecture and integrations Translate complex technical concepts into clear, user-friendly content Product Requirements Documentation (PRD) Collaborate with Product Managers to create and refine PRDs Convert business requirements into structured functional documentation Ensure alignment between PRDs, engineering output, and user documentation Maintain consistency and traceability across product artifacts Developer & User Documentation Own API documentation, integration guides, and onboarding materials Develop tutorials, FAQs, and knowledge base content Improve developer and user experience through structured documentation Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with Product, Engineering, Data, QA, and UX teams Participate in agile development processes and release cycles Ensure documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and release-ready Tools & Process Improvement Use tools such as Markdown, Git, Confluence, or similar Introduce automation and efficiency improvements in documentation workflows Leverage AI tools where helpful for content generation and optimization What We're Looking For 3-4years of experience in technical writing, including leadership experience Strong experience documenting data platforms, APIs, or enterprise software Hands-on experience creating and managing PRDs Solid understanding of: Data workflows, ETL processes, and analytics systems APIs, microservices, and cloud environments Basic to intermediate understanding of AI/ML concepts.
