Job Description

Job Description The role of the application engineer is to support domestic and international distribution channels in the preparation of quotations and technical proposals. We process inquires by creating a proposal package for customers for assigned products. Responsibilities • Support the distribution channels / sales team for fielding technical products and application questions • Review inquiries to understand goals of the project, customer needs, and specifications to develop a quote strategy and scope of supply • Prepare technical proposals complete with data sheets, performance curves, lube systems, seal systems and other auxiliary systems • Collaborate with internal departments assisting in quotation and proposal development • Technical support answering questions regarding the proposal, modify proposals as needed, and participate in pre-award technical discussions to close orders. • Review customer purchase orders ensuring compliance with quoted equipment and specifications • Transfer job with all applicable data to project management after order is received. Participate in a handoff meeting and act as a technical advisor as appropriate throughout the job. • Performs other related duties as assigned. Technical/Functional Skills: • Will have a strong general understanding of engineering sciences and be comfortable engaging in technical communication and decision making. • Will have strong communication skills and confidence in representing Sundyne in communications with customers. • Knowledge of API 610 & relevant API / ASME standards, Knowledge of Centrifugal pumps • Self-directed work team environment requires an individual to be a team player and self-starter • Will be capable of working both independently as well as in a team environment. • Will be dedicated to meeting short deadlines and manage multiple customer orders simultaneously with a high degree of ownership for timely and accurate completion. • Will have strong attention to detail, and a high degree of focus on customer satisfaction. • Will have strong personal organization and time management skills. • Position may require travel to support sales channel and customers. Qualifications • Bachelor’s in mechanical engineering • 5+ years’ relevant experience in the pumps industry is mandatory • Experience of API 610 & relevant API / ASME standards, Knowledge of Centrifugal pumps Required Skills Customer Requirements
