Genuine ownership of real engineering work, for example designing and bringing up circuits or boards, running circuit simulations, specifying power systems, or taking hardware through design reviews, validation, and production. Working fluency with common tools (for example SPICE/LTspice, Cadence, Altium, KiCad, MATLAB/Simulink, or ETAP) and familiarity with relevant codes and standards (for example IEEE, NEC, IPC, or UL). Demonstrable career progression toward senior or lead engineering responsibility. A Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus but not required. Hands-on working use of large language models in professional work, and the judgment to tell a well-reasoned answer from a plausible-sounding wrong one. Ability to engage reliably for at least 40 hours/week during weekdays. Strong written communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical decisions clearly.
