As a Lead Engineer on the Cloud Enablement team,you'lltake the lead as you: * Deploy, manage, and support cloud infrastructure solutions using Cloud services, particularly Google Cloud, with a strong focus on cloud networking. * Implement best practices for cloud resource provisioning, configuration management, monitoring, and security. * Develop andmaintaincloud resources using Infrastructure as Code tools to automate deployment and configuration tasks. * Drive continuous improvement through the adoption of automation and orchestration. * Use your technology acumen to apply andmaintainknowledge of current and emerging technologies within specialized area(s) of the technology domain. * Evaluatenew technologiesandparticipatesin decision-making, accounting for several factors such as viability within Target's technical environment, maintainability, and cost of ownership. Initiate and execute research and proof-of-concept activities for new technologies. * Lead or set strategy for testing and debugging at the platform or enterprise level. * In complex and unstructured situations, serve as an expert resource to create and improve standards and best practices to ensure high-performance, scalable, repeatable, and secure deliverables. * Lead the design, lifecycle management, and total cost of ownership of services. * Provide the team with thought leadership to promote re-use and develop consistent, scalable patterns. * Provide suggestions for handling routine and moderately complex technical problems, escalating issues whenappropriate. * Monitor workflow and risks; play a leadership role in mitigating risks and removing obstacles. * Lead andparticipatein complex construction, automation, and implementation activities, ensuring successful implementation with architectural and operational requirements met. *Establishnew standards and best practices tomonitor, test, automate, andmaintainIT components or systems. * Stay current with Target's technical capabilities, infrastructure, and technical environment. About you: *4 yeardegree or equivalent experience * 9+ years of software development, cloud engineering, platform engineering, DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineering experience with a focus on cloud services *Demonstratesstrong domain-specific knowledgeregardingcloud platforms, including account/project management, compute, storage, databases, networking, serverless, IAM, security, observability, and cost management * Experience usingIaCtools such as Terraform,Pulumi,Crossplane, or similar technologies * Experience developing APIs, automation, and operational tooling usingGoLang, Python, and Bash scripting * Familiarity with container and orchestration technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and managed Kubernetes platforms such as GKE * Experience with observability, monitoring, logging, and tracing tools such asOpenTelemetry, Grafana, Prometheus, Cloud Operations, Splunk, Datadog, or similar * Familiarity with various Linux distributions, virtual machines, containers, networking, DNS, load balancing, and cloud-native runtime environments * Communicates and coordinates effectively with project teams, application teams, partners, and stakeholders *Demonstratesexpertisein analysis and optimization of systems capacity, performance, reliability, scalability, security, and operational health * Experience in building highly scalable distributed systems, internal developer platforms, automation frameworks, or shared cloud platform services
